Freeport-McMoRan in partnership with CAT and Komatsu have decided to transition haul truck fleet at the Bagdad mine in Arizona to an autonomous haulage system (AHS) over three years. This project aims to enhance safety, optimize fleet operations, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and position the mine for future technological advancements, including electrification. This initiative marks the first fully autonomous U.S. copper mine and aligns with broader sustainability objectives in the mining industry.
