Misconceptions about 4k
My 4k gaming video was met with... 'interesting' responses. I summarise the points in this video. I didn't expect such a backlash. See the original video here: https://youtu.be/A_2DAs-S5hc 0:00 - What the video was about 0:33 - Geforce 670 @ 4k 1:20 - Why I haven't got a Geforce 980 TI 1:36 - Is 60 fps enough? 2:13 - Why did I get a 4k monitor? 2:35 - Antialiasing at 4k - is it needed? (The examples shown are demonstrated in HD but I can assure you the issue is the same in 4K, just less obvious). 3:15 - 1440p VS HD VS 4K 3:53 - The future of 4k and how I'll deal with it + conclusion I know what you're going to say: g-sync. Or freesync. They're both excellent technologies that will allow for smooth gameplay at lower frame-rates. But alas, my current setup doesn't support them and the next GPU I buy will be able to power 4k nicely anyway. I have taken a gamble by being an early adopter of 4k monitors. If you call me stupid for doing so, that's your call. It isn't mine and I don't regret doing so... at least not yet.
