Missing Date?!

Ever go through your stack looking for one thing… and end up finding something that completely throws you off? That happened to me while digging through my Morgan dollars. I pulled out some interesting dates including Carson City Morgans, started checking mint marks… and then I found a coin that honestly confused me. The date says: 189… And then nothing. No obvious scratch. No clear damage. Just a missing last digit that sent me down a rabbit hole. I put it under the microscope, searched forums, looked into weak strikes, grease-filled dies, wear patterns, and possible mint issues… and now I want your opinion.
