The Mk16 Mod 8 is the stand itself with "old style" cut stops or the new adjustable train stops. The Mk16 tripod combined with the Mk16 stand is the Mk16 Mod 9 Assembly. It is manufactured in both carbon steel and stainless steel and has a powder coat finish. It is the most common stand configuration for mounting most conventional small arms on shipboard and entry control point platforms.
