There is no wrong form of front split. The form you should work on must be connected to your goal🙌
If you have a dance performance and you need to get a full front split by specific date - open your hips and you can get deeper.
If you work on the front split to get better hips mobility, reduce lower back pain etc - definitely work on closed hips even if it takes longer.
