The Moira. According to Homer, there was one Moira. However, according to Hesiod, there were three. And it was this version that inspired me to create this piece. The main characters are Clotho (the Spinner of the Thread of Life), Lachesis (the "Giving One," who guards this thread), and Atropos (the "Irreversible One," who cuts it).
