Testing a Mini Halfwood Press is the last stage of making this bench-top etching press. Designer/Maker Bill Ritchie tests each press he makes and sells. This is Number 48 and is an especially beautiful press because he splurged and bought ebony for it. It took several years to save up the expensive wood and learn how to work it. Finally an artist opted to buy it, and the test was the last part of the production. In this video, Bill chose to combine monotype and drypoint for the test.
