Monroe Style Gruntwork [Advanced]
Folks who are learning Monroe Style here have an opportunity to learn a powerful couple of exercises to implant and strengthen muscle memory on three of the main devices that we teach on the channel: Staggered Arpeggios, The Slidey Lick, and The Infinity Pattern. Getting familiar with how to anchor the devices without having to think too much paired with changing keys chromatically is a good challenge! Before the main teaching I share some reflections on the fun I had recording with my dad, Red, for our new album, and then playing with Peter Rowan and Wyatt Ellis at the Watermelon Park Pickers Festival. thanks to Tom Libera for the great clips from Watermelon Park of Peter's set, Teresa Ellis for excellent pics in Shawneeland and video from the festival, and Ryan Rogers for the David clip.
