Monte Walsh (1970) was an elegiac western penned by Jack Schaefer, the author of the classic ''Shane'', which coincidently also starred Jack Palance.This time however it is Lee Marvin who is the star, giving one of many career best performances. The wonderful score was provided by Oscar winning composer John Barry and the beautiful ballad '' The Good Times are Coming'' is performed in various forms by the iconic Mama Cass Elliot.
