Moonglow

Picnic, the 1956 movie starring Kim Novak and William Holden had an incredible sound-track made up of two songs mix together, MOONGLOW composed by Eddie DeLange and Will Hudson and the PICNIC LOVE THEME composed by George Duning. Both songs follow the same chord progression. The quartet was made up of Stan Wrightsman, pianist; George Van Eps, bass; Morty Corb, bass; and Nick Falod, drums. For the most part they played a jazz style of MOONGLOW, while the string section played the LOVE THEME. To my knowledge Stan Wrightsman never did a solo piano performance of these two songs, known as the Theme from Picnic. In my music video, I came up with a stylized piano arrangement along the lines of what Stan might have performed. Enjoy, David Burt
