Few events in Israel’s history loom larger than the Exodus—the miraculous deliverance of God’s people from centuries of bondage in Egypt. Yet as monumental as that moment was, it was never meant to be the final word. Moses, the man God raised up to confront Pharaoh, part the sea, and carry the Law down from Sinai, was not the destination but a signpost. The writer of Hebrews tells us Moses was faithful as a servant in God’s house, but Christ is faithful as a Son over that house (Hebrews 3:5–6). As we continue our journey toward Easter, we’ll examine how Jesus fills three distinct roles that Moses could only foreshadow.
