Mosonshow 2026

Einmal mehr bin ich nach Mosonmagyaróvár in Ungarn gereist, um die berühmte Mosonshow zu erleben. Und erleben kann man dort eine Menge, sogar mehr, als man im Kopf verarbeiten kann in gerade einmal zwei Tagen! Im Wettbewerb gab es quer durch alle Genres wieder unglaubliche Meisterwerke zu bewundern. Bei diesem Augenschmaus bleibt dem normalsterblichen Modellbauer einfach die Spucke weg! Gerade bei den Dioramen und Figuren gab es sehr viele kreative und enorm inspirierende Werke zu sehen, von diesen Eindrücken werde ich wieder einige Monate zehren können. Manch einer wird bei dem Anblick solcher Klasse und solcher modellbauerischen Fähigkeiten gleich demotiviert, ich für meinen Teil erfreue mich daran und sehe es auch als tollen Ansporn für meine eigenen Projekte. Für meine Photorunde hat sich eine kleine taktische Änderung sogleich bewährt. Anstatt Samstag Morgen gleich den Händlerbereich nach Schnäppchen abzusuchen habe ich mir stattdessen gleich den Wettbewerbsbereich vorgenommen, um dort schon ein paar Photos zu machen. Es trudelten zwar bis zum Annahmeschluss um die Mittagszeit noch weitere Wettbewerbsmodelle ein, aber auf diese Weise gelang es mir, das eine oder andere Modell gut und vergleichsweise ungestört zu photographieren, bevor es in der Masse unterging. So kommen meine Zuschauer in den Genuss von guten Photos manch eines Modells, an das man zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt nicht mehr gut herankam. Wie es sich gehört gab es auch im Händlerbereich viel im Angebot. Dabei habe ich mich hauptsächlich auf die Produkte konzentriert, die dort günstig zu bekommen sind oder die mir bis dato völlig unbekannt waren und dementsprechend auch im Internet nur schwer aufzutreiben sind. So macht der Besuch der Mosonshow auch im Bezug auf eine Einkaufstour Spaß und Sinn! Besonders gefreut hat es mich, dass ich dort wieder einige Freunde und Fans aus der ganzen Welt getroffen habe. Sogar Zuschauer aus Südafrika waren dort und so ergab sich ein nettes kleines Gespräch, was immer eine tolle Erfahrung ist. Jeder hatte Lob und Anerkennung für mich übrig, sogar eine Flasche ungarischer Schnapps wurde mir verehrt. So kam auch der soziale Aspekt nicht zu kurz. It is indeed quite an overwhelming experience, more than one can actually take in just two days! In the contest one could marvel at incredible masterpieces from alle genres. This feast for the eyes tends to blow the socks off regular scale modellers! Especially when it comes to dioramas and figures there were many creative and highly inspirational pieces on display, without a doubt those impressions will keep me motivated for several months to come. To some people the view of such world class and awesome skill might be demotivating, but to me at least it is a great source for joy and motivation for my own projects. A small tactical change for my photo session paid off immediately. Instead of searching for bargains at the vendor area during Saturday morning i mostly stayed at the competition area to take a few photos first. More contest entries poured in until noon, but this way i had the chance to take photos of one or the other model unhindered and before it got burried by the other entries. That way my viewers get to enjoy good photos of certain models, which were very hard to reach at a later stage of the show. As it should be the vendor area had a lot to offer. I kept my focus mostly on those kind of products, which are either very cheap there or were entirely unknown to me before, which usually means that those are often hard to find online, too. To me it is always fun and effective to go shopping at the Mosonshow! I was very happy about having a chance to meet many friends and fan from all over the world there. There were even viewers from South Africa present and we had a nice chat, which is always a lovely experience. Everyone expressed his appreciation of my work and i was even given a bottle of Hungarian liquor. The social aspect had its place there, too.
