MOSS
Moss is a media installation based on the legend of an otherworldly object and the story of its journey. At its core lies the theme of mutual integration — when the earthly becomes cosmic, and the cosmic turns earthly. Changes in the environment surrounding the object become a metaphor for exchange — a symbol of how we shape the world and how, in return, it transforms us. Moss and shelf-like fungi gently envelop the alien traveler like a living shroud, weaving it into the tapestry of Earth’s nature. On the moss’s surface, a pattern of light begins to emerge — an attempt to establish a dialogue with an unfamiliar world. The soundscape of the installation becomes a kind of language — a story of galactic wandering, shared with those who watch and listen. Technical description The installation is a luminous stele made of matte acrylic, which works like a lightbox with controlled light. The sculpture is 70 percent decorated with stabilized moss, which acts as a projection surface for laser animation. Individual elements of the sculpture are covered with luminophores that bring additional light accents while interacting with laser beams.
