MOST COMFORTABLE EVER full build
In this video, we set out to design and build the most comfortable chair possible completely from scratch. What started as an idea quickly turned into a full collaboration and a deep dive into design, CNC machining, upholstery, and pushing our skills to the next level. This chair would not exist without the incredible work of @shinobi.tree, who is the main creator behind this project. He led the design and construction process and brought the core vision of this chair to life. I stepped in to finalize the last details and fine tune everything inside our drawing program. Together, we combined precision, creativity, and craftsmanship to create something we are both proud of. We designed the entire chair in Fusion 360, which has become one of our favorite tools for furniture design. It is an incredibly powerful program that allows you to design complex furniture projects in 3D, test proportions and ergonomics before building, generate precise files for CNC machining, and streamline the entire workflow from concept to production. If you are serious about furniture making and digital fabrication, Fusion 360 is a game changer, especially when you are working with a CNC. Speaking of CNC, over the last few months I have developed a lot of new skills working with mine. I am currently using the Mekanika Pro M CNC and so far it has been a fantastic machine. It is precise, reliable, and powerful enough to handle serious furniture projects. Learning how to properly design for CNC, create toolpaths, dial in feeds and speeds, and think digitally before cutting material has completely changed how I approach making. But we did not stop there. For this project, I decided to take it one step further and challenge myself again. I bought a sewing machine and made the cushions myself for the very first time. That meant learning about foam selection and density, cushion construction, fabric cutting, sewing straight seams which is harder than it looks, and fitting everything perfectly onto the frame. It was a steep learning curve, but that is what makes projects like this so rewarding. Exploring new skills, stepping outside your comfort zone, and being able to say you built everything in house from digital design to CNC cutting to upholstery is incredibly satisfying. This project represents growth. Growth in digital design. Growth in CNC craftsmanship. Growth in upholstery and soft materials. And most importantly, growth as a maker. If you enjoy furniture design, CNC projects, digital fabrication, or just watching ambitious builds come to life, this video is for you. Let us know in the comments. Would you sit in this chair? What would you change? And what should we build next? Thanks for watching and supporting the journey. There is a lot more coming.
