Indonesian authorities are conducting rescue operations after Mount Dukono in North Maluku Province erupted on Friday (May 8), sending volcanic ash up to 10 km into the sky. Three people have died — two Singaporeans and one Indonesian — while seven Singaporeans have been safely evacuated. Ten Indonesians remain missing. Several climbers sustained injuries from the eruption, prompting the deployment of dozens of rescue personnel, including police. The country's volcanology agency has maintained the alert status at the third highest level. Residents have been warned about the risks of volcanic mudflow during rain and advised to stay at least 4 kilometers away from the crater. No flight disruptions have been reported as a result of the eruption. Follow our live blog: https://cna.asia/42nc18l
