While preparing our first Mozart CD (released in 2015, featuring K. 169, 464 and 589), we felt passionately inspired to develop a more intense, profound approach to Mozart`s unique string quartet output, and the idea of achieving a complete recording was born. Many important cooperation partners took notice of our firm intension of recording all Mozart quartets; oner the years, those partners have become an irreplaceable part of this longstanding project. Now, after seven years, we are overjoyed to hold the complete Mozart box set in our hands, and we herewith extend our most profound, heartfelt thanks to all friends, promotors, supporters, cooperation partners, and artistic advisors who have been with us on this journey. G. Henle Verlag: It has been a great joy and honor for us to serve as ongoing artistic advisors for the new complete edition of Mozart`s string quartets. Our complete recording is based on insight gained in the new Urtext edition brought out by Wolf-Dieter Seiffert: we thank him for the myriad of interesting observations and indications he has provided. Individual fingerings and bowings resulting from our intense study of original scores are available in the Henle Library App. For their generous support, we extend our thanks to the Funkstiftung and the Peter Klöckner Foundation, along with the two associations Freunde Junger Musiker and Live Music Now Berlin and a number of further private sponsors, friends, and acquaintances both near and far, without whom a project of such dimensions could hardly ever have come to fruition. Particular thanks go to our tireless recording technicians, Clemens Deller, Sebastian Braun, Christoph Franke, Matthias Erb, as well as to the participating studios: Bremer Sendesaal, Falk Häfner & BR-KLASSIK and the BR Klassik Studio Munich, Philipp Nebel and the b-sharp Studio Berlin, and last but not least, our wonderful label Avi-music (Andreas von Imhoff) Dear music lovers, we wish you many hours of listening enjoyment as you explore Mozart`s string quartets, and we hope to see you soon once again in one of our live recitals!
