Well, I tried to convert a mulberry pie from a 9", to a 10". I almost had a mess on my hands. I forgot that my 10" pie pan is a deep dish. But after a quick trip back out to the mulberry tree, crisis averted
Here's the original recipe for a regular 9" pie:
3 c Mulberries
1 1/4 c sugar
1/4 c flour
Mix sugar & flour, pour over mulberries, mix well. Allow to sit while preparing the crust. Pour berry mixture into prepared crust & cover with top crust. put a few vent holes in top of crust. Can brush top of crust with milk or egg wash, this is optional, but it does make a nicer looking pie top. Sprinkle small amount of sugar on top of crust, optional
bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 min, reduce temp to 350 degrees & continue baking for 30 more minutes. Until you have a nice golden brown crust
