Multiplay Tutorial 9 - Linking Midi Cues
In this tutorial I show how to link a series of Midi commands to an audio cue so that you can synchronize lighting cues to the audio cue. Multiplay 3.0 is Show Control software that allows you to play back and manipulate audio cues but can also send Midi and OSC messages to control other devices and software. It helps you to synchronize and coordinate all aspects of a performance by sending commands to lighting desks or software, digital mixing consoles and projection equipment. It is only available for the Windows operating system. The software is free and open source and can be downloaded here: https://www.da-share.com/software/multiplay/ Historical Note: Multiplay was very popular among community theater groups in the past but was never updated as newer versions of MS Windows were introduced. As such it became less usable. Recently a renewed interest in updating the software has taken hold and it is now being updated. The web site above will state that the software is in Beta development but it is very stable and certainly usable for school and community theater performances.
