Multiple Float Paths in Primavera P6 (Part 1)

Primavera P6 allows to calculate multiple paths based on FLOAT which are called MULTIPLE FLOAT PATH (MFP). After adding activities and their links we perform network calculations to calculate schedules dates. Primavera P6 used CRTICAL PATH ANALYSIS to calculate the schedules dates, based on this CRITICAL PATH is established, which defines the length/duration of the project. All activities on this path are called CRTICAL ACTIVITIES and delay in any one of them impact the Project completion, Based on Network calculations, P6 determines near critical paths which can be called 2nd or 3rd Critical and so-on. To determine float path we need to make some changes in SCHEDULE OPTIONS by selection "CALCULATE MULTIPLE PATH" There are two option for float i.e. Total and Free float, former is used when we are calculating the overall project performance and in this cased the end of the path will be "Project completion Milestone" or any any activity considered as Project completion.
