🎭 Music Meets Code: A Cosmic Comic Performance 🎶💻 Welcome to a live Cosmic Book — where coding, music, and storytelling collide! This collaborative theatrical performance explores the connections between music and programming, utilizing acting, animation, lighting, and props to bring life to what could’ve been just lines of code or notes on a sheet. 🌀 What to Expect: A fusion of theater and visual storytelling, this live stage performance takes place at the Campus Commons Performance Hall on the UNC campus. Set within the framework of STEAM and STREAM education movements, this piece brings art, reading, and coding together for a truly interdisciplinary experience. 💡 Synopsis: Henry, a university student and avid coder, is stuck with boring homework. Suddenly, he hears strange sounds; he thinks it's an alien trying to communicate. As a coder, he replies in Python. Meanwhile, in a parallel scene, another boy, a music lover, is also trying to escape his schoolwork through musical composition. Each thinks they're talking to an extraterrestrial being... but they’re actually reaching out to each other. Henry sends code. The other Henry sends music. Together, they learn from each other’s languages. 👽 Two mysterious narrators — the Spatians — guide us through this exchange, commenting on the structure of both programming and music notation. They begin as observers, like a Greek chorus, but later take the stage as learners themselves.
