My First Excel Table with Basic Skills
This is a basic table in Excel. I use this table in my Excel class as a first assessment and we use many of the foundational features. Enter QTR1 into cell B3, check mark, then use the fill handle to copy to C3, D3, &E3 2. Manually enter the new followers by social media platform and quarter. I recommend using the “tab, tab, tab, and enter” method to speed up the process. a. Enter TikTok growth for Q1 to Q4: 40, 50, 60, 70. b. Enter Snapchat growth for Q1 to Q4: 50, 55, 60, 65. c. Enter Facebook growth for Q1 to Q4: 70, 75, 80, 85. d. Enter Instagram growth for Q1 to Q4: 60, 65, 70, 75 3. Make a summation of the data for each quarter using the ‘AutoSum’ button in the Home Tab, Editing group 4. Select cells B3 to E3 and center align the values 5. Select cells B4 to E8 and center align the values. 6. Merge and center the Title in cell A1 across columns A to E 7. Merge and center the Sub-Title in cell A2 across columns A to E 8. Adjust the width of column A to 1.5 times the width of columns B to E 9. Right align the row header, Total, in cell A8 10. Double the row height for row 2 to create white space above the subtitle. Then, align the sub-titles to the top of the cell creating a pleasant amount of white space.
