My Journal Ecosystem! (& what failed...)
literally one person asked for this, so here’s my journal eco-system! ShopMy stationery: *some links are affiliate links https://shopmy.us/shop/collections/974573 ShopMy jewellery: *some links are affiliate links https://shopmy.us/shop/collections/1026959 a crumb of context, so we’re all on the same page here. - **i’m an adhd mess of a human, this is reflected in my journals and my choices.** i can’t promise my thought-process will make sense, but i will explain it. - And , a reminder I like to throw out for when you’re consuming content about journaling and whatnot, just please bear in mind that all you actually need is a journal and pen. 1. scrapbooking / junk journaling *yes, I’m aware, it’s not traditionally a junk journal, some pages are just creative journaling, I use a lot of stickers. I don’t know what else to call it. It’s basically my creative outlet, semi-fun diary journal. See - junk journaling just rolls off the tongue better. 2. daily planning - filofax pocket I held off on getting a Filofax for ages, mostly because I wanted a dupe. Let’s not lie - even on sale, Filofaxes are not cheap. However, I really couldn’t find anything, and they are reusable year on year so I just bit the bullet. And I have been consistent! I use my Filofax to do my weekly planning, both for social stuff but and work/content creation. Honestly, that’s kind of it. I’ll try set some goals at the beginning of the month, but I don’t utilise any of the other tabs. I did think about adding some trackers to the back - like a book tracker, maybe an ongoing skincare log - but we’ll see. For now, the stripped back purpose really works for me. 3. brain dump journal Cannot recommend a brain dump journal enough! It’s just a space for… anything and everything, really. As someone whose thoughts are usually a full frontal attack on every side, being able to just write them down and organise them is really useful. There’s no pressure with this, it isn’t for memories or planning - it’s just a pick it up when you need it, which I love. 4. learning books So I currently have two of these, they’re essentially brain dump journals but with a specific purpose. If you watched my personal curriculum video, you’ll recognize what they’re for - basically, as I’m learning about new topics, I just have a space to collate my thoughts, notes, ideas, etc.
