NALUMANGO Calls for Election Prayers

By Alice Lubasi Vice President MUTALE NALUMANGO has urged the church to pray for the country as Zambia heads towards the election period. And the Vice President has called on the church to take a leading role in promoting oral Bible translation, saying it is vital in reaching communities. Mrs. NALUMANGO says millions of people still lack access to scripture in a format they can easily understand and engage with. The Vice President was speaking in Lusaka today when she opened the inaugural Oral Bible Translation Conference. Mrs. NALUMANGO said oral Bible translation is helping ensure that the word of God is heard clearly across continents and cultures. Meanwhile, Faith Comes By Hearing Organisation Vice President ALEX MATHEWS said nearly 300 delegates from 54 countries are taking part in the global gathering. And Bible and Literature Translation Association –BILTA- Executive Director JACKSON KATETE said the conference seeks to ensure Bible translation is available in every language by 2033.
