Nani's Biscottis
NANI’S BISCOTTIS (Some pronounce, “vee-SCOH-thee”) Courtesy Mama Louisa’s Kitchen. Traditional Sicilian Anise Flavored Soft Cookies. Makes about 50 cookies. This recipe has been in the family for at least 6 generations, handed down from my Great-Great Grandmother Comella of Sant'Agata Sicily) to her granddaughter Dominica, then to her daughter Louisa (my mama). Mama Louisa (aka “Nani”) made countless batches of these over the years for various holidays. If there's one food we identify as "home" it's these beauties! Nani said its best to take one day to make the dough and let it rest, then another day to bake and frost, but if necessary can do all in one day.
