NCCBand plays "Shine"

Under the direction of Cheryl Woldseth, the Nevada County Concert Band performs at the 2nd of 3 Picnic Pops Concerts held annually each summer at Pioneer Park in Nevada City, California. "Shine" (from the movie "Robots") is composed by Ricky Fante, and arranged by Michael Brown. The announcer is Jim Kerr, and the vocalist is Sarah Pressler. This 7/27/2008 concert was themed "The Spirit of Champions," and featured an extended band. In July, the NCCBand hosts a "musician invitational" event, and invites band/percussion players to join for the day (including a morning rehearsal and sheet music in advance). There were 46 guest musicians joining the 47 NCCBand members at this event. The carpet squares on the grass are for an upcoming "Mission Impossible" musical game that won a few young audience members an ice cream treat.
