Massage will increase daily activities such as walking, balance, better sleeping patterns, and reducing stress, and anxiety. 7:02 Sciatica is inflammation of the sciatic nerve. Pain usually originates in the lower back or hip radiating down to one side of the posterior thigh and leg. Sciatica can be caused by bulging or herniated disk, spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal), bone spurs, trauma, poor posture, tumors, and Piriformis compression. It is important to stay within your scope of practice when working a client that may come in self diagnosing sciatica. You can check for Piriformis Syndrome prior to starting the massage.
