Nesting in CorelDraw
The ReproScripts nesting plugin allows you to calculate the filling of a sheet with figures, taking into account their shape, and generate files ready for use for printing or plotter cutting. The plugin works on the basis of using projects with detailed information about the original objects and the finished result. This allows you to easily create an archive of jobs and return to the desired project at any time, repeat the job or make any adjustments. You can add figures for use in the project nesting by selecting them in the CorelDraw file and clicking on the button with the plus sign in the first tab of the plugin window. You can add several objects at the same time. The plugin will process each figure, calculate the parameters important for nesting and add them to the list. For each figure, you can specify how many times it should appear in the nesting. You can also specify that one figure should completely fill the entire sheet. In the second tab, you must specify the sheet on which the nesting will be performed. You can specify the exact number of finished sheets or the plugin will automatically determine how many sheets are needed to place all the objects. Click the 'Start nesting' button to calculate the compact arrangement of objects taking into account the specified number, distance between them and other parameters. After the calculation is complete, a preview will be available for each finished sheet, as well as detailed information for each figure whether it was placed as many as specified. The calculation can be repeated by clicking the 'Repeat nesting' button. The nesting algorithm uses a heuristic approach that can give different results each time it is run, and the results may differ slightly in the optimal use of the area of the finished nesting sheets. All nesting options are saved in the project and you can easily switch between them. If you are satisfied with the result, you can select one or more sheets and generate a finished file in CorelDraw. The plugin allows you to flexibly customize the parameters for generating finished files. For example, you can generate a file that simultaneously contains both cutting lines and graphics. This allows you to get synchronized files for printing and cutting. Graphics and cutting lines are located on separate layers. In the plug-in settings, you can set various parameters, such as layer names and the color of the cutting lines when rendering in CorelDraw. You can also specify the parameters that will be used by default for new projects. This allows you to easily and conveniently customize the plug-in to suit your production requirements.
