Netscale 72 – Mounting R&M’s High Density Patch Panel for Data Centers
The tighter the cabling in 19'' racks, the more user-friendly the wiring and distribution platforms need to be. One solution that meets the today requirements in data centers is the Netscale 72 patch panel from R&M. See in this video how to mount the Netscale 72 patch panel. The Netscale 72 platform brings the best-in-class density on a single patch panel. Apply both parallel optical cabling types BASE8 and BASE12 on the same platform. Distribution modules for both applications fit into the same drawers. The split sliding trays enable the installation of 72 ports per U for 100% fiber utilization. Six individual trays in a 1U housing can be operated independently. They support MPO, SC, LC connectors as well as the new very small form factor (VSFF) connectors CS, SN, MDC and MPO16. This means users can easily migrate to faster networks such as 400 Gigabit Ethernet. If you splice with Netscale 72, you are independent of cable types and fiber counts and can even splice a 144-fiber ribbon cable onto a 12-port MPO cassette. ✅ See in this video: 00:21 Mounting the 1U housing of the Netscale 72 patch panel. Speedy fixing with a screwdriver and 4 screws. 00:45 Install cable manager and front cover. Push in the side frames then latch the cover into place. 01:10 Let’s now start with a multi-level housing, e.g., a 2U or 4U patch panel. The process is the same. Fix it and clip the cover into place. The half-transparent smoke-colored cover looks great. 01:36 Now we'll show you the incredibly versatile assembly options. All you need to do is pull and insert cassettes with distribution modules and connectivity. Expect user-friendly handling on the front and back. 03:06 Inside the rack and on the back, you have every option for routing, managing, separating, and securely fastening the cables. 03:21 Now see how to install the smart hardware for automated infrastructure management with R&M inteliPhy. It offers RFID-based automated port documentation and visual guidance of work orders. Again, only a few simple steps are required to insert components such as contacts and sensor bars. CAUTION: Connect yourself to a ground to avoid discharges. The inteliPhy hardware can be inserted from the rear or front. 05:10 Netscale 72 is now ready for patching. Finally close the flap in two steps. ➡️ More about the Netscale 72 high density patch panel: https://www.rdm.com/netscale-72/ ➡️ Netscale 72 in the R&M eCatalog: https://bitl.to/52Qy
