Neumann U87

This time we're looking at a whole bunch of mics that claim to sound like what some consider the all time studio classic mic, the Neumann U87. But even Neumann had at it when they re-released the mic in the 1980's as the U87Ai. While the newer version seems to get a lot of flack from folks that have probably never used one, making claims that the older one was way better, night and day difference, etc... We decided to put that to the test, as well as a bunch of other mics that made claims to the sonic territory held by Neumann since the late 1960's.
