Never Ever Buying Garlic Again😤
Growing, Harvesting & Curing Garlic PLANTING (Late Oct-Nov): Plant cloves 4” deep, 6” apart, pointed end up, 2-3 weeks before ground freezes. Add 1” compost layer and 4-6” leaf mulch for winter protection. SPRING CARE (April): When garlic sprouts, apply compost and water deeply every other morning. Continue monthly composting. SUMMER (June): Cut curly green scapes at stem center to redirect energy into bulb growth. Scapes are edible! HARVEST (Late July-Aug): When 3-5 bottom leaves turn brown, carefully dig bulbs 4-5” from stem. CURING: Air dry bulbs 1-2 days outdoors (protected from rain), then cure in ventilated shelter for 2+ weeks until stems dry. Cut stems 2-3” above the bulb, trim roots, brush off dirt. STORAGE: Keep in a cool, dry place for up to one year. Save the biggest cloves and use those to replant again. We appreciate you taking the time to watch our video. We completely fell in love with growing a garden not only because we get fresh, homegrown food but we also cultivate a deeper connection to where our food comes. That same joy is then shared with our family, friends and community. We believe in simple, wholehearted living, loving what you do and doing it with love!
