New AR10 on hogs

Feral hogs die in this video; hit [BACK] if you don't wish to view. The AR15 in 223 wasn't doing the job reliably. About 25% of the brain-shot hogs didn't die. I did some test shots on a dead 125# hog and side-shots weren't penetrating the neck. I was only using it because it was the only rifle I had at the time with a picatinny rail to mount the thermal. So... I just purchased a AR10 in 308 and mounted the thermal scope. Depending on the load, the 308 bullets are about 2.5x the energy of a 223. Both are plentiful albeit 223 is easier to come by, cheaper, and kicks less. Both are plenty accurate but I believe the 308 will do the job much more reliably. These are the first 2 hogs I've shot with it. I'm anxious to see how it performs with neck (spine) and brain shots. Gun: PSA PA10 18" 1/10 twist Scope: RIX Storm6 Ammo: PMC 180gr soft points
