It’s just a shot away, man. Civilization to savagery in a matter of minutes. Do you like driving your car? Do you like going to the grocery store and picking up all the food you need? Do you like watching TV and doing whatever fun stuff you're into? Well, it can all disappear in the blink of an eye. It really does disappear for relatively small groups of people around the world sporadically, maybe it’ll be all of us at once one day in the future. I wouldn't be surprised. Hey, contact your government and tell them “don't blow us all up!”, I’m sure they’ll value your input. 🙄 At the end of the final World War (3? 4? 5?...10,000?) eight humans are stranded in a space station hovering over Earth watching helplessly as the narcissistic sociopathic political ruler types destroy themselves and everyone else on the planet below due to their creepy maniac shit-filled heads full of fantasies of ‘glory’ and ‘history’, you know the type, they're on the news every day. The New Dawn 8 are trapped. Ain’t no rocket coming to save them. Ain’t no world to return to. Their only hope is to wait out the radiation infused inferno below and attempt to crash-land the New Dawn space station into the ocean at some point in the future. Luckily onboard there are experimental cryogenic units that were being tested for use in planned missions to Mars and beyond. All hope for that kind of fun adventure is gone now of course. The crew of New Dawn must now attempt to wait out the Apocalypse in cryo-sleep. And when 80 years later they awake and return to Earth they’re met with a very unsettling reality: it’s over. Civilization is over. All infrastructure is destroyed. No power plants, no cars, no grocery stores, no Arby’s, no Dairy Queen...it’s over, man, it’s all over. And the six surviving crew members of New Dawn are the last of their species in existence. 10 billion to 6 individuals...all because governments and militaries wanted to play war one more time. Like a seed sent into space these six humans have fallen back to Earth and must now regrow the human race. These six people must now attempt to recreate civilization all over again from scratch. They realize that they and their children’s children’s children will have to live like cavemen and slowly, very slowly rebuild the world to what it had once been...if they can. Can you imagine what that would be like? Could you do that? Live a caveman existence for the rest of your life? Raise kids doomed to that same painful boring life? Every day a struggle just to stay alive. The urge to survive is strong, sure, but it’s gonna be so crappy! And for soooo long! Well, these six humans have a clean slate to work with now. Will they redo all the nation-state/religious/tribal-racial-ethnic garbage of the past, the kind of nonsensical shit people are blithely engaged in at the present moment? Will they divide themselves up into hate filled Democrats and Republicans, Israelis and Palestinians, leftists and rightists, haves and havenots? Again?!! Would I be surprised if they did? 🙄 Or will they learn from the mistakes of the past and create a global peaceful society? Is the human species even capable of such a thing?  ??????????????????
