New Rocks and Their Tectonic Context

The rock collection is growing. As a geologist, you collect a lot of rocks and minerals in the field. You start to be more selective over time, and I have gotten to the point where I really only sample rocks that have “tectonic significance”. I will explain. In this video, I share some new samples I collected this summer during the UArizona Summer Field Geology course around the western interior USA. Arclogites, the Great Unconformity, corals, and pentacrinus fossils – it was a great HAUL. I hope you find it interesting and learn something valuable.
