Here’s my drum cover of “Animals” by Nickelback — one of my favourite tracks from the band! The groove is simple but powerful, and the energy in this song is always fun to play.
For this cover I kept the setup minimal and recorded the whole kit using only two drum mics. It’s a simple approach, but it still captures the punch of the kick, the crack of the snare, and the overall feel of the kit.
Sometimes less gear makes you focus more on the playing, and this song is perfect for that raw rock vibe.
