Testing continues before bodywork development. In this video we go into a pasture field to test top speed and if it falls apart. We achieve 29 mph a couple of times which means we have the gearing about right - according to CyclekartGB rules, a cyclekart cannot exceed 30 mph. Currently there is excessive vibration! Post test inspection flagged up loose rear wheel hubs which didn't have lock washers. Lock washers now installed... next step would be thread lock. Cyclekart details: The cyclekart is based on a Austin Seven Special work's car, with the front axle above the leaf spring. The cyclekart is being built to comply with the rules and regulations of the CyclekartGB organisation. It must look like a pre-WWII race car, can't exceed 30 mph, narrow wheels and tyres, Honda GX200 or clone engine up to 212cc, maximum 10hp. Max wheel base 1800mm, Max wheel track 1000mm, Max 150Kg. In this instance the engine is a Honda GX200 clone - it's a Loncin G200F-P5. The engine has had the governor removed. It is fitted with a billet conrod, 18lb valve springs, Honda aluminium flywheel, mikuni 22mm carburettor.
