nirvana - polly

In 1996, when I was 14 years old, I started listening to Nirvana and became a fan instantly. Nirvana inspired me to learn to play the guitar, so I took lessons every week for 6 years. The teacher was from South-America and did not teach me any Nirvana songs, but classical guitar songs and South-American and Spanish. So, I never really played Nirvana. Then, at the age of 25, I was asked for a band and also started singing a little bit. Now, finally at the age of 43 I felt ready to sing and record for the first time a Nirvana song (this is the first song I ever covered of Nirvana), also because I got better in recording with the software Garageband only this year. So, when you listen to this cover, imagine there is 29 years of effort in it! I recorded Polly of Nirvana in Gararageband (left panel) and you see me singing and playing (right panel) First, I listened well to the original song on Nevermind and determined the beats per minute (122 approximately) and put a drum in Garageband with this speed. Then, I recorded the guitar part and added a base in Garageband. The base starts after the first part, just as in the original song. Finally, I sang the lyrics over it and for the chorus also a second higher voice. I recorded the video afterwards just playing along with the Garageband sound recording. #nirvana #cover
