This video highlights the pharmacology and administration of Nitrous Oxide by NYS AEMTs. The content is delivered as a narrated PowerPoint with a demonstration of the NitroNox Field Unit by Porter Instruments. This education program was designed and implemented for member of Ticonderoga Emergency Squad, Inc. and other EMS agencies in Essex County, New York. Educational goals: -Describe the composition of Nitrous Oxide -Describe the administration routes and elimination of Nitrous Oxide -Describe the effects of Nitrous Oxide -Describe the adverse effects of Nitrous Oxide, as well as the management of any adverse effects -Integrate knowledge of pain management as a prehospital care provider. -Utilize the NitroNox Field Unit.
