No Rideline + CBN = ???
In this video, I take on 5 shears from a salon—one of which came in with almost no ride line (or none at all). The ride line is one of the most critical parts of professional hair shears. Without it, shears lose their ability to cut cleanly, can fold hair, or even cause damage to the blades. Traditionally, I could use a lapping stone or whetstone to re-establish the ride line. While this works, it can take a long time and requires a steady, patient hand. That’s where my new 600 grit and 1200 grit CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride) wheels come in. These wheels are specially designed to re-establish the ride line with precision, control, and consistency—bringing the shears back to a professional, factory-quality ride line. This upgrade means faster, more accurate sharpening and better results for my clients who rely on their shears every day in the salon.
