Patch sheets are not a secret but an old tech solution to working with synths that don't have patch memory. Back in the early 80s we didn't have much choice because only high-end synths would let you store patches.

In this video I tell you why handbooks for synthesizers with patch memory such as the Yamaha DX7 and Roland Jupiter included templates for patch sheets. I discuss the use of photos and then I look at why I switched from patch sheets to notebooks.
