No Skins, No Problem? Bootpacking the Table Mountain Loop

Went out for a tour around Table Mountain on April 9th, 2026 and only realized I forgot my skins at the parking lot after driving for 3 hours. Luckily the snow stayed firm for most of the tour. Parking lot was pretty empty, there were a couple of groups ahead of us, but they peeled off to either Huntoon point, or off towards Mt. Baker so we had the middle part of the loop all to ourselves. Snow was a little icy to start, so we took a long break at Mazama Lake before crossing Iceberg Lake and climbing up to Herman Saddle where we ate lunch. Descent down to the valley floor was pretty good, but the bottom got gloopy so we decided against climbing back up.
