Hello Everyone! Blender 4.5 is out! And I have updated all of my Geometry Node Libraries to work with the new version. Updates are Available Now! GeoNode Assets: https://danielhickox.com/nodes Strands: https://danielhickox.com/strands TerraNode: https://danielhickox.com/terranode Petrify: https://danielhickox.com/petrify ======================= CHANGES ======================= Everything: -The Bounding Box fix, a new 'Use Radius' option was not disabled by Blender when upgrading nodes created by older Blender versions. This oversight broke a number of my modifiers when using earlier versions of my asset libraries with Blender 4.5. Because of this I strongly recommend downloading the latest versions of my asset libraries to use with Blender 4.5. GeoNodes: -Curves: --New Curve Loft modifier, both curve and surface outputs, can be used in conjunction with Curve Sweep to create planking --Curve Sweep, fixed a bug that sometimes caused the last segment of the curve to have stretched UVs. --Curve Segmenter, improved version that preserves all curve attributes, while also providing more control through some additional parameters -Debug: --New Draw Wireframe Node --Fixed a bug that prevented the Debug Draw nodes from working properly on Points Geometry. -Duplicate: --Array Radial, added separate control over depth in deform mode -Fences: --Add Pickets, changed the Max of the spin parameter from 10000 to 1 -Utility: --New Remesh Quads modifier, subdivides faces to create even topology on quad meshes, triangles are ignored. (Note: Each face is evaluated separately, so loops are not guaranteed to be consistent across a whole mesh if the input quads are irregular) TerraNode: -Upgraded Terrain Base modifier with adaptive resolution options -Changed the falloff for the overlap portion of the crop modifier from linear to smooth-start -Fixed a bug that caused the preview masks option on scatter modifiers to be hidden under the terrain -The height of ripples in the water shader can now be controlled via a 'Height Strength' slider -The murkiness slider now better controls the opacity of the water when it is deeper than 1m. -Sparse Scatter Preset, changed roads mask to be on by default Strands: -Fixed a bug where wind settings were not transferred from a parent strand to its children causing broken motion when using the wind modifier. -Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the UVs of the last segment of a strand to be stretched. -All Strand Materials, added sub-pixel smoothing Petrify: -Petrify Texture Set Nodes, added sub-pixel smoothing DJH Utils Addon: -New Add Material Asset operator that allows you to add/append materials from your asset library using a searchable list. ======================= ======= ======================= For more about me, check out my website: https://danielhickox.com Join the LooseEdges Discord Server: https://discord.gg/EuUHutzrJr My tools can be purchased from these links: https://superhivemarket.com/creators/danielhickox https://danielhickox.gumroad.com/ Strands: A GeoNodes Library Do you ever add ropes, chains, wires, or other long thin and flexible objects to your scenes? Strands is a GeoNode Asset Library, containing a set of modular modifiers to help you do exactly that. The modifiers assist with placing curves in your scene, appending additional details to them, and meshing those curves into ropes, braids, or chains. DJH Geometry Node Assets Since their addition to Blender I have been gradually making and incorporating procedural tools into my workflows. With the addition of the Asset Browser and Geometry Node Assets, --and mostly to end the endless pain of browsing and appending--I began organizing my best nodes into an asset collection. This project is the result of that effort and currently contains 65 modifiers/nodes that are generally aimed at reusability and versatility. TerraNode: Node-Based Terrain Modifiers When making terrain, I often want to place details where I find them important, but I usually do not want to take the time to sculpt every little mound and rivulet . . . To marry those two contradictory facts, I made the TerraNode modifiers. Petrify: A GeoNodes Library Petrify is a library of tools designed to help you make rocks. Whether you want a bunch of small rocks to scatter across your scene, a few large rocks to feature in a landscape, or one 'hero' rock to sculpt on, the Petrify library should have some tools that will help you.
