NodeWorks V-Ray Instances and UserColor 3ds max Tutorial
Since version 7.30.02, V-Ray reads NodeWorks instances and custom channels natively. Per-particle color and custom data flow straight into your V-Ray materials. In this tutorial we cover two complementary techniques: 1. Driving per-particle color from a bitmap underneath each instance, using the Texmap and Color nodes inside NodeWorks together with the V-Ray UserColor map. 2. Driving color in the shader only - using a Float custom channel, V-Ray UserScalar, and OSL Color Curve - so you can change the look instantly without recalculating the simulation. Requirements: • FumeFX 7.5.5 or newer • V-Ray 7.30.02 or newer The finished scene is included in the FumeFX example files, alongside more than 160 other examples. 00:00 Intro 00:30 V-Ray instances and UserColor 04:10 Velocity-driven color via UserScalar + OSL Get your 30 days FumeFX trial and start learning FumeFX and NodeWorks now. https://afterworks.com/Trial.asp https://docs.afterworks.com/FumeFX6max/Release%20History.htm Facebook user group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/164868190323236/
