NOR gate using diodes
Logic gates are the basic building blocks of any digital system. It is an electronic circuit having one or more than one input and only one output. The relationship between the input and the output is based on a certain logic. Based on this, logic gates are named as AND gate, OR gate, NOT gate etc. But there are two gates which are called UNIVERSAL GATES, NOR and NAND gates. NAND AND NOR gates are called universal gates , because with a combination NAND and NOR gates alone, it's possible to create all other logic gates like AND, OR, XOR etc and you can design any logic circuit. eg: inverter-- nand with inputs shorted. NOR GATE:: HIGH output (1) results if both the inputs to the gate are LOW (0); if one or both input is HIGH (1), a LOW output (0) results. NOR is the result of the negation of the OR operator. It can also be seen as an AND gate with all the inputs inverted. NOR is a functionally complete operation—NOR gates can be combined to generate any other logical function. it shares this property with the NAND gate. By contrast, the OR operator is monotonic as it can only change LOW to HIGH but not vice versa. SCHEMETIC-- In this section of video you will learn Logic symbol, Truth table of an NOR gate. Circuit of NOR gate using TRANSISTOR ahead of OR gate is given. SIMULATION --In this section simulation of the NOR Gate circuit is done using DTL. App used for simulation is "EVERY CIRCUIT" link is given below: Working of the circuit in accordance with the truth table is also explained using simulation. MAKING THE CIRCUIT-- For building NOR gate circuit components used are: 1. BREADBOARD for connection. 2.1k resistor 3.100 ohm resistor. 4. 1N4007 DIODE(2 pieces). 5.LED 6. 9 VOLT BATTERY 7.
