Quss ibn Sāe'da was a famous pre-Islamic poet, philosopher, and speaker well-known for his legendary wisdom and eloquence. He was one of the few monotheists who lived in Arabia before Islam.
After the death of his two brothers, he couldn't resist the grief and died shortly after them. This poem concludes some of his last words, recorded in Al-Bidaya wa'l-Nihaya (The Beginning and The End) by Ibn Kathir.
