Not so EVIL PET & Vibraphone

This video is the result of my first 24 hours with the new EVIL PET by Endorphin.es, paired with my acoustic vibraphone and the MalletKAT. Most of the videos I’ve seen show EVIL PET as a wild and unpredictable granular machine, so I wanted to approach it from a different angle: still full of character, but with a gentler, more tonal side. I start by feeding the sound of the vibraphone into the pedal and exploring how granular synthesis can dissolve, stretch, and reshape the instrument without losing its identity. Later, I control those grains with the MalletKAT, blending the physical world with the digital one. Using the vibraphone pedal and the sustain pedals simultaneously was... a little adventure, but definitely worth it I’m pleased with how musical and expressive the EVIL PET can be when treated with care.
