Nuka Tribute - Noticed
This is a tribute to Nuka, the older brother of Kovu and Vitani, and the eldest son of Zira, from The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and the The Lion Guard episode, Lions of the Outlands. I've always felt bad for Nuka. All he ever wanted was for his mother to notice him and be proud of him. Unfortunately for him, Scar chose his younger brother Kovu to be the future King of the Pride Lands instead of him, and as a result, Zira, being very loyal to Scar, paid more attention to Kovu than Vitani and Nuka, causing him to become jealous and resentful of Kovu. Nuka always tries to make his mother notice him and prove to her that he's more worthy of being the King of the Pride Lands than Kovu, even going as far as trying to kill Simba. Unfortunately, when Zira does interact with Nuka, she's usually angry or annoyed with him. To make Nuka's life even more tragic, the only time Zira showed that she did care about Nuka in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride was when he got crushed by logs and died from his injuries, his last words being: "I'm sorry, Mother. I tried.", though in the original version of his death scene, he said: "I'm sorry, Mother. I tried. Well, I finally got your attention, didn't I?". Also, I wish that we could have seen more interactions between Nuka and Kovu, because most of his interactions were with his sister, Vitani and his mother, Zira. I also wish that he had been mentioned in the last episode of The Lion Guard, Return to the Pride Lands, but it was still a great episode.
