This is probably my favorite classical sacred piece. It was written by Gounod, a French composer who lived from 1818-1893. I understand that the text lost a lot in translation from French to English, but the lyrics are still very meaningful to me. This piece goes along with the last hymn that I posted; the "dark night of the soul".
