I am going to show you how to place a small text inside an object of irregular size or shape.
steps
1. Create your shape and convert it to a path.
2. Duplicate it.
3. Make an inset of the duplicate.
4. Place your text above the shape layer.
5. Select path and text together
6. Apply Flow into Frame command from theText menu.
