This time, I've upgraded to Windows 11, which is honestly not even that bad! It's literally a reskinning of Windows 10, and all those claims that they're pushing AI are rubbish. It's not gonna get shoved in your face. I decided to do a history on Ocean after seeing a 1984 BBC documentary about them. Hope you guys enjoy this timeline! :-) Special credit to @worldoflongplays, @AL82RetrogamingLongplays, @amstradmaniaque, @AtariGreenlog, @NintendoComplete, and others credited at the end, whose work in archiving the footage is greatly appreciated. Ocean Software Limited, founded by David Ward and Jon Woods in 1983, was a British video game publisher based in Manchester. The company developed dozens of games for a variety of home computer systems, becoming one of the largest European video game developers and publishers of the 1980s and 1990s. Ocean was also well known for producing titles based on films such as Rambo, Short Circuit, Cobra, and the first officially licensed Batman game. By the end of the decade, RoboCop - adapted from Data East's arcade game based on the film - had become the most successful movie-licensed video game of the 1980s. In 1996, Ocean was acquired by Infogrames and merged into the company. In 1998, it was fully rebranded as Infogrames United Kingdom Limited as part of an effort to standardize Infogrames' various subsidiaries. The Ocean brand name continued to be used on select titles until it was quietly retired in favor of the Infogrames brand. In 2009, Bandai Namco Entertainment purchased Atari SA's UK assets, including the remaining rights associated with Ocean Software. - Information credited to Wikipedia and the Audiovisual Identity Database This video was released for non-commercial, educational, and historical purposes only.
