It is a famous Neapolitan song from 1899, written by Vincenzo Russo (lyrics) and set to music by Eduardo Di Capua, famous for the refrain "Oje Marí, oje Marí, quanta suonno ca perdo pe' tte!" which expresses the melancholy of a lover, and which was the first Italian song to be recorded on record.
